The Legend of Zelda Contest

Hi, guys! GlitterBerri here. I have three really cool Zelda-related developer interviews sitting around, but I can’t decide which to translate next. One is about the making of Majora’s Mask, and the other is about the making of the Oracles series. If you’re interested in Zelda, game design, and how your favorite games were made, you’re sure to love these.

So, I’ve decided to let you choose! I’m holding a contest for you to help me pick. If you’ve ever wanted to support my work but needed a bit of an incentive, this is it!

You can read the descriptions of the interviews below. But first, the rules of the contest:

The Rules

1. The interview with the most votes by the end of the contest gets translated.

2. 1 vote = $1 USD via Paypal.

5. Click on The Wind Waker button below to vote for The Wind Waker developer interview. (It will take you to Paypal, where you’ll have to confirm the amount of votes you wish to cast.)

6. You can donate as much and as many times as you want.

7. The contest starts at the time you see this post, and ends at 11:00 pm PST on Friday, August 24th, 2012. (A little less than 2 weeks from now!)

8. The winner will be announced on my website at 11:00 am PST on Saturday, August 25th, 2012.

9. The full translation of the winning interview will be uploaded on my website by no later than 11:00 pm PST on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012.

10. As a bonus, if you cast 5 votes ($5 USD) or more, I will write your name or username in Japanese katakana. If you cast 10 votes ($10 USD) or more, I will write your name/username in Japanese and translate a 10 word sentence into Japanese for you. Good for forum signatures, etc.! In this Ocarina of Time spinoff, Link tumbles into a mysterious land called Termina, where he must stop the moon from crushing Clocktown and its inhabitants. This interview describes how Majora’s Mask grew out of Ocarina of Time, the challenge of creating a sequel in such a short period, and the philosophy of the developers when it comes to Zelda.

They also detail the creation and development of the Oracle games.

      I have, actually, but I’ve got so much on my plate I haven’t had the right incentive yet. They’ve definitely got some cool facts in there, though.

    Aww, man! I’ve been traveling and didn’t know about this contest until today, well after it ended. If I’d known, I definitely would’ve thrown in my votes for Oracles!
