Era: Game:
The Era of the Hero of Time (Child Era) Ocarina of Time

•Hyrule Gets Engulfed in Dark Clouds

The Sacred Realm is a mirror of one’s heart. If someone with an evil heart steps into it, it turns into a demonic world. But if someone with a pure heart enters it, it turns into a paradise. Ganondorf became the Demon King thanks to the triforce of power. With the exception of a few places, the Sacred Realm turned into a demonic world where monsters ran amok.

Hyrule castle and its town fell under the total control of Ganondorf, and the survivors ran away to Kakariko Village.

•The Young Hero Remains Asleep

While Link was able to pull out the Master Sword, his body was too young to be a hero. Hence, the Master Sword sealed Link in the Sacred realm.

The ancient sage Rauru managed to protect the small space called the Chamber of Sages inside the Temple of Light, the pillar of the Sacred Realm. Rauru watched over Link as he remained asleep for 7 years.

Princess Zelda had no other option but to wait for Link’s seal to break. In order to escape from the Demon King, she impersonated a young Sheikah boy and kept her identity hidden under the name of Sheik.

Sidebar

•Kakariko Village

Once built by the Sheikah, it was the refuge of this race. Impa, Zelda’s nurse, grew up there. The royal family grave is in the cemetery on the back of the village, carving the bloodstained history of a Hyrule where conflicts didn’t cease.

•Rauru

He’s the sage who built the Temple of Time in ancient times. Before Link pulled the Master Sword out, he followed Link’s adventures as the owl Kaepora Gaebora.

Bottom Bar

•The Characters Used in this Era

The Hylian characters have a distinctive cuneiform look. As shown on the right, it can be decoded by transliterating it into Japanese.

Hey! I beat this game today! (Apparently you can beat Ganon with the Iron Boots on…). If you go to Lon Lon Ranch as older Link, go into Malon’s old room. If you look closely at the headboard you’ll see a portrait of Ganondorf. Also, at nighttime(as older Link) you’ll see Talon. He’s not there during the day so I just don’t… whatever. Also, if you hit the left window in the Castle Courtyard with your slingshot, a man will come out and tell you not to cause trouble. Then he’ll throw a bomb at you. Cool, just as long as you don’t get hit by it. (Can you spell JERK?) Also, in the fishing pond, you can take the Fisherman’s hat with the fishing rod. Just don’t keep it too long or he’ll charge you 50 rupees for it. And if you do the diving game and go to the island with the Zora(the one near the entrance to the Lake) and face a certain way, wait till the timer reads 2:00. Then dive, and you’ll see the message from the Zora telling you to try again. You’ll also be facing a secret passageway, and you’ll see: …?!?! … a block wedged in it. Woo-hoo, some secret.

      Aw, how old are you?

Wait a minute, Rauru was Kapeora Gaebora? I think I missed that little tidbit of shocking information, is this confirmed in-game? It is rumored that Zelda’s father in Skyward Sword ( I can’t remember his name, but it is similar to ‘Gaebora’) is somehow connected to Kaepora Gaebora (most notably his intense eyebrows). I had noticed, however, that the father also looks strikingly similar to Rauru. The orange outfit, slightly routund, etc. If Rauru and K G are the same, that just confirms my theory. (If this is already an existing theory, or common knowledge, I have not yet heard of it. If this is the case I apologize for my ignorance on this matter, I was just really frigging exited with this discovery.)

It is already common knowledge but welcome to the world of Zelda theories! I’m sure I have read somewhere that Rauru is KG in Ocarina. I am staring at the images of both Rauru and Zelda’s dad from SS in the book and… they do have the same characteristics so one shouldn’t be so surprised if Rauru was a clear descendant especially because of the name similarities…. Although if you look up KG in the Zelda wiki, the info in there is slightly different to the pointing out in the Historia that Rauru is KG. You never know but I firmly believe in all these three name gatherings being connected o3o

For the discussion above, it seems Kaepora Gaebora may be Rauru’s alter ego. The owl has a bit of humor, especially in the manga(”’You better come back!’ huh? You’re certainly popular with the ladies. This is the third pretty young girl you’ve got!”) Meanwhile Rauru is solemn and kind of serious. And Gaepora and Rauru have the same characteristics, and in later games Zelda is a Sage, so maybe there is some connection somewhere.

I could have sworn that if you talk to one of the gossip stones that it tells you something about the KG being a sage reincarnated.. Leading me to assume that it must be Rauru (since all the other sages are present in your life as a child)

King Gaepora is the boat from windwaker also, as if it wasn’t obvious enough, so I wouldnt doubt if he was the first sage in OoT also.

    1. Snow

Actually, I’m fairly confident that Kaepora Gaebora and the King of Red Lions are separate characters. After all, Kaepora Gaebora is just Rauru and Rauru isn’t the king of Hyrule.
