And a minor side note, but has anyone else noticed that on the Ocarina of Time page where it lists the sages, they mixed up Nabooru’s and Darunia’s Sage Medallions?

Hey, I was wondering something… Isnt there a contradiction about the Master Sword in the book (or your translation) ? At page 110, it is said “The place where Link returned was the Temple of Time. The Master Sword remained stuck before the time the Sacred Realm was opened.” But at page 122, it is also said “Upon returning to his original era, Link replaces the Master Sword in its pedestal and returns his beloved horse, Epona, to the ranch.”
So when Link returns to his era, does he replaces the Master Sword on its pedestal, or is the sword already stuck on it ?
To my understanding, it is a very complex explaination of what would happen in parallel universes, if Link would take the sword out to propel him to the future, that is a split in the timeline, but the other parallel universe (the past), the sword was never taken out in the first place, and to save Hyrule as a child it required the sword to remain in its pedestal as to NOT tamper with the time properties which the power of the sword posessed. It does make physical sense

thanks glitterberri but i kinda don’t understand the timeline, how can the hero be defeated and how does the story change in ocarina of time when he goes to the future then the past
There haven’t been any further details released about how the hero is defeated in Ocarina of Time, unfortunately.
As for the rest… when Zelda sends Link back to the past after defeating Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time, he goes to find Child Zelda in the garden and warn her about what will happen in the future. As a result, she sends him away and he goes off to search for Navi, ending up in Termina. These events serve as the basis for the “Child Era” timeline.
Meanwhile, in the “Adult Era”, which has been split into something like a separate universe now, Zelda has just sent Link back to the past. This means that there is no longer a Link in this timeline (because he’s been sent back to the other one) to save Hyrule from Ganon when he next revives, so the gods flood the land, setting up the events of The Wind Waker and its sequels.

I just received my copy of Hyrule Historia today in the mail and I was wondering if there were any pages/clarifications/projects that I could possibly contribute to (in my spare time). I’m a Japanese Major myself and could possibly contribute quite a bit if I am needed.
Glitterberri, do you plan to translate any of the stuff on the concept art pages? I think the text surrounding the older games will be most interesting, personally, there’s some interesting information in there. I could help out if needed, I own the book myself.

Btw, can you translate the screen captions on the japanese page? I don’t think the pages are complete without them.
Your page looks nice! However, the person who made the scans you are using does not want them to be used for any purpose and would like you to delete them and not distribute them to anyone. Someone is actually already doing English versions of the pages with his own scans. I’d pass on his email address, but I can’t seem to find it right now.

Are there translations of the Hyrule Historia artwork on this page? I was wondering about whether the Parella and Zora have any connections and while they are both shown in the same page, I’m not sure if the Parella were going to be Zoras once or not.
The artwork has yet to be covered, but we’re working on it. From what I’ve seen, the Parella were indeed intended to look like a form of proto-Zoras at one point in development. However, I don’t remember if only the design was changed or if the idea of them being connected was scrapped altogether. I’ll have to get back to you on that.
